| vielleicht bin ich ja einfach zu dumm, - aber warum kauft Phillips nicht einfach TA auf (fuer einen guten Preis wuerden die Hauptaktionaere sicherlich verkaufen!) und verschmilzt TA mit NavTech. der TA Boersenmantel in D wird weiterhin genutzt und man listed eben auch noch in USA, etc. (NavTech ist ja eh noch kein "brand-name"). Die Alternative waere, dass Phillips das alles schnurzpiepegal ist und NavTech eher selbst loswerden moechte... Laurin |

| @laurin die hauptaktionäre sind bosch/blaupunkt und eine investmentgesellschaft. warum sollte sich bosch/blaupunkt bei ihren navigationsgeräten von navtech abhängig machen? außerdem kann navtech (noch) kein blaupunkt datenformat anbieten während TA6 das vdo und blaupunktformat "drauf" hat. warum sollte philips etwas kaufen (database europa) was man schon hat und wie sollte das mit den kartellbehörden hinhauen? in einem "duopol" läßt es sich gut leben. mich würde es auch nicht wundern wenn philips beim ipo mit TA6 aktien bedacht wurde. beim "branding" kommt tele atlas mit dem aussagekräftigen logo sicherlich besser weg. |

| @RM Wenn ich mir die Updates zu den VDO-Cds auf der TA-Homepage anschaue, so fällt doch extrem auf, dass da nix Neues dabei ist. Man könnte sogar geneigt sein zu sagen, TA hat aufgegeben, das VDO-Format weiter mit aktuellen Daten zu bedienen. Schließlich steht am 31.12. die Vertragsverlängerung seitens VDO an. Irgendwie habe ich da ein ungutes Gefühl. Weißt du zufäliig genaueres? Gruß APL |

| @A-Lama Und weshalb entwickelte man dann eine Datenbank im mit VDO zusammen im VDO-Format für Singapur ? Das ist gerade 6 Monate her. Auf die Internetseiten von TA6 würde ich in Sachen Zeitbezug nichts geben. Da stehen auch noch die Messetermine vom Oktober drin und zum Produkt PhonoMultinet gibt es auch noch keine Infos! | Naja, das mit Buyout ist mir doch ein wenig weit hergeholt. Die Marktposition ist immer noch gläzend, man schaue sich nur die Partner In USA an: ESRI, MapInfo, ATX, Telcontar, Onstar, MSN CArpoint,... Das Feinste vom Feinen sozusagen. Die ganze Branche ist aber erst im Entstehen! Umsätze werden folgen! TA lebt zur Zeit von Navi-CDs in D, sonst mehr oder minder nichts. Das Potential ist riesig. Aber: Durch das Going Public hat TA soviel Geld eingenommen, dass man es sich offensichtlich erlauben kann, auf eine gute Präsentation nach aussen hin zu verzichten. Aber die Zeit wird kommen, wo das Geld wieder knapp wird und man wohl ne KE braucht. Schon alleine deswegen halte ich ein Delisting für tödlich. TA hat ein super Partner, macht Euch mal den Spass, bei Google TA und z.B ESRI einzugeben. Nur man kann - oder will ? - es zur Zeit nicht an den Mann bringen? Der einzige vernünfitge Grund wäre NT vom IPO abzuhalten, wie schon häufig gesagt, aber das ist reine Spekulation. Den Abgang zu machen, halte ich für lächerlich, die Anzahl der Partner ist immens, das Produkt gefragt und die Anwendungen im Kommen. Warum sollte man so eine Marktstellung aufgeben? Ich gebe zu, einen vernünftigen Grund für die momentane Kursentwicklung habe ich nicht, aber TA hat zuviele erstklassige Partner, die auf die Qualtiät vertrauen. TA kann keine Luftnummer sein und ist es nicht!!! APL |

| @china / mib wenn man jeden tag zu jeder zeit handeln kann hast du recht. kann ich aber nicht. außerdem rechne ich damit, dass TA6 - wenn entdeckt - zu einer bewertung kommen könnte, die zumindest dem wert der datenbank/aktie entspricht.aus meiner sicht wäre das der mind. übernahmepreis an die freien. und bis dahin sind es 300 % . @a-lama es ist auch schon vorgekommen, dass unternehmen in zusammenarbeit mit banken aktien der konkurrenz geshortet haben um ein imageproblem zu erzeugen, d.h. welcher kunde verläßt sich auf einnen partner, dessen kursverlauf auf einen exitus hindeutet ? |

Global positioning systems, which can pinpoint any place on Earth using satellite signals, are looking well-positioned in the market these days. The navigational aids are already a big favorite of outdoor enthusiasts - some of whom play elaborate hide-and-seek games with handheld GPS units. But with the technology showing up in more and more places and applications, investors, too, might want to get clued in. As The Post recently reported, the city struck a deal to put GPS units on haulers, which will let the city monitor trucks to make sure they don't stray between ground zero and Fresh Kills landfill. GPS units have also been put in ambulances to help direct emergency personnel. They're in rental cars, guiding drivers to a destination - and tattling if drivers go above the speed limit or beyond state lines. They're also in airplanes, helping guide pilots, and in boats, surveying ocean depths. They're being used to monitor cash machines and construction sites, and they're being installed in phones, palm pilots and pagers. One company in California is working on a "personal locator" wristwatch, marketing it to parents who want to know where their children are. GPS equipment has done approximately $3.2 billion in sales in North America this year, according to Ron Stearns, a consulting analyst with Frost & Sullivan. "By 2008, I expect that to grow to $10.2 billion," he said, adding that he tends to be a bit conservative. "I think it's a fairly under-followed area of the market," agreed Wes Cummins, a research analyst at Needham & Co. "There are actually very few public companies, especially pure plays. I would say it's an undiscovered area of the market." A diverse group of companies are carving out niches in the GPS universe. Stearns said leaders include industrial heavyweights Trimble Navigation and Leica Geosystems; Datum, which designs and makes high-tech timing devices; defense and aerospace company BAE Systems; Garmin, which focuses on consumer electronics; and telecommunications-focused Symmetricom. Other public companies to look at include Paradigm Advanced Technologies, Snaptrack (a division of Qualcomm), Applied Digital Solutions and CSI Wireless. Some of these technology-related stocks were vastly overpriced during the Internet bubble but have been beaten down to what analysts say are more reasonable levels. "I think the prospects are bright," said Burnham Securities analyst Richard Leader. One barrier to growth has been serious concerns about personal privacy - rankling unions and private citizens - but the World Trade Center attacks have made this less of an issue. "The resistance is not going to go away, but it will be attenuated by safety concerns," said Stearns. Putting GPS units in cell phones and palm pilots presents a big opportunity, and the auto industry presents another. Navigation and "fleet-tracking" abilities are broad: GPS lets a rental car company disable a vehicle from the office if you've crossed state lines when you weren't supposed to. On the flip side, the company can open the car if you've accidentally locked the keys inside. "In reality, less than 5 percent of new cars are sold with GPS installed," said Cummins. That's seconded by Stearns, who said there are maybe 200,000 aviation vehicles, but "there are more than 30 million registered vehicles in California alone. It doesn't take a whole lot of business sense to see why people are focusing on those particular markets." The deal New York City struck with Canadian company Paradigm Advanced Technologies shows how GPS works in tandem with other systems. In this case, a computer essentially calls the GPS unit through a cell network and asks the unit where it is. The GPS takes its coordinates in longitude and latitude, processes the information as a map and sends the information back through the cell network - to an official's computer, handheld, pager or cell phone. |

| @riese_mils Vielen Dank, sehr interessante und vielversprechenden Info. Eigentlich verwunderlich, dass kaum Umsätze stattfinden nach so einer überaus positiven Meldung. Ich frage mich nur, warum solche Meldungen nicht auch in D publik gemacht werden. man könnte tatsächlich glauben, die haben an einer vernünftigen PR und IR-Arbeit zumindest hier in Europa kein Interesse. Ich kann mir da keinen Reim darauf machen... Aber diese Reihe von innerhalb von nur 3 Monaten gewonnenen Neukunden ist schon beeindruckend. Wenn ich nicht schon in Teleatlas investiert wäre, hätte ich spätestens nach dieser Nachricht zugeschlagen glaube ich. :-) stw |
