8:45AM Guitar Center offers bullish outlook (GTRC) by Michael Baron Guitar Center (GTRC) is forecasting third-quarter earnings of 14 to 16 cents a share on sales of $228 million to $233 million. Fourth-quarter earnings are pegged at 47 to 51 cents a share on sales of $285 million to $293 million. Analysts polled by Thomson Financial/First Call are looking for per share profits of 16 cents and 48 cents, respectively. Same-store sales are forecast to increase 5 to 7 percent in both periods. Shares of the Westlake Village, Calif., musical instrument retailer closed Friday at $13.95, up 2 percent. |
